Tracking Utah Environmental Legislation.

  • The 2009 General Session web site provides direct access to all bills being considered.  You can set up alerts to notify you when a bill you are interested in changes status. 
  • If you are interested in tracking environmental legislation during the Utah legislative session, check out the Utah Chapter of the Sierra Club's on-line bill tracker that's refreshed several times a day during the session.  
  • Other groups that typically track bills during the legislative session include:  The League of Women Voters of Utah and Utah Moms for Clean Air.

 

United States Air Quality Maps.  Ozone and particulate matter (PM2.5) data are published as soon as practical after the end of each hour.

  • Post Carbon Salt Lake

Post Carbon Salt Lake seeks to raise awareness in our community about peak oil and the need to prepare for “energy descent” by transitioning to reduced-energy lifestyles and by strengthening local communities - promoting local food, local economy, and local energy.

  • Union of Concerned Scientists

The Union of Concerned Scientists is the leading science-based nonprofit working for a healthy environment and a safer world. UCS combines independent scientific research and citizen action to develop innovative, practical solutions and to secure responsible changes in government policy, corporate practices, and consumer choices. A section of their web site is devoted to global warming. Of particular concern for clean air is the recent EPA Air Pollution Decision.

  • Utah Interfaith Power and Light

Utah Interfaith Power and Light have set a goal of getting more than 20 Utah-concerned faith communities to sign up and indicate a commitment to environmental stewardship and to help make earth a better place. Among those already committed is First Church.

Utah Moms for Clean Air are using the power of moms to clean up Utah's dirty air.
