A Meeting of Congregations
June 24-28, 2009
Salt Lake City, Utah
This June, UUs from around the country will join us in Salt Lake City for our annual General Assembly. Congregational delegates, religious professionals, lay leaders and vacationers will be among the attendees.
HOSTING--There has been a tradition for host congregations to offer home hospitality to guests who enjoy a more personal setting for their housing choice. The price charged for this service acts as a fundraiser for local congregations. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know our fellow UUs.
It is acknowledged by all involved that hosts are not professional B-n-B proprietors. Hosts will be asked to provide nice acommodations and a hearty continental breakfast. Transportation to and from the airport and the Salt Palace Convention Center is not required.
Detailed forms will be completed by both hosts and guests to facilitate a good match. If you are interested in opening your home to General Assembly guests please fill out the form below and contact Christine Ashworth at cash(at)xmission.com or 801-589-1919.
VOLUNTEERING--Anyone choosing to volunteer 24 hours during GA receives free registration. This is a great opportunity to be involved, learn how the GA works, and meet lots of UUs. Salt Lake is known not only for its beautiful mountains but also for its warm hospitality. You can contribute to the success of this celebration of our community by joining our volunteer ranks.
Volunteer applications will be available March 2nd at http://www.uua.org/events/generalassembly/resigrationhousing/financialaid/index.shtml and must be submitted no later than March 31st.
