Rental Rates

Room Rates (up to 4 hrs)
  • Sanctuary/Chapel (capacity 150) - $1000.00** (includes heat/air conditioning)
  • Eliot Hall (social hall capacity 125) - $300.00
  • Little Chapel (limited availability - capacity 40) - $50.00
  • Classrooms (capacities vary) - $50.00

Please note that an additional fee for cleaning or maintenance may be charged. Additional rates may apply for longer events, weddings, and memorials.

Your event (or group) must be compatible with the First Principle of Unitarian Universalism: We promote and affirm the inherent worth and dignity of all people. This statement represents a theology of inclusion. We support the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, and Transgender community; people of all races and ethnicities; the equality of women and their right to govern their own reproductive system. 

**If you are wanting ministerial services for memorial/celebration of life or weddings, please make a note of that on your email....or if you are looking at space rental only.  Weddings and memorial/celebration of life events (including chapel, ministerial service, and music service) begin at $1800.00**  

You will also need to provide a Certificate of Insurance (there are online event insurance companies, if your own insurance company doesn't provide coi's).

Fees for additional services in addition to space rental.
Ministerial services: $500
Includes one of our ministers to officiate your service, as well as a one-on-one consultation prior to the event to discuss your wishes and help shape the ceremony.
Music services: $300
Includes music consultation and live piano music performed by our music director David Owens
Audiovisual (AV) Services: $350 (base fee)
This fee includes setup, teardown, and technician support for the following services:
• Microphone setup and live sound mixing in the chapel,
• A live video feed from the chapel to Eliot Hall (our adjacent social / overflow space),
• An optional Zoom livestream of your chapel event, for those unable to attend in person,
• Use of our rolling 85-inch video screen for video playback in the chapel (if desired).
During the event, our in-house AV technician will:
• Operate microphones and mix live sound from the AV station in the chapel balcony,
• Manage chapel cameras and video switcher to produce the live feed for Eliot Hall and/or the Zoom livestream (if applicable),
• Facilitate playback of any client-provided audio or video files.
Note: If your event requires any of the AV services listed above, the AV Services fee will apply.
Additional AV Services (available upon request for an extra fee):
• Edited Video Recording: +$175
• Includes a polished, multi-camera recording of your event, edited and uploaded to YouTube (either public or private), with a downloadable video link for the client and invited guests, provided several days after the event.
• Custom Slideshow Creation: Fee varies based on project scope
• If you'd like to display a slideshow on our rolling 85-inch screen (chapel) or wall-mounted screen (Eliot Hall) but need assistance creating it, our AV director can assemble a professional slideshow from your photos and music for playback during your event. Pricing will depend on your specific needs and materials

The Renter agrees to save, indemnify, and keep harmless First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City, its officers and congregation against any and all liability, claims and judgments, including demands arising from damage or loss of property and demands arising from any injuries or deaths resulting from use, except claims or litigation arising through the sole negligence or willful misconduct of First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City.
